Twart Students 01: Nick Fury

MWPete

It was my choice for the first Twart Students project and I had a checklist of Nick Fury elements I wanted to include; 6os feel - check, the layout is based on the Bullitt poster with a dash of Point Blank. I also wanted Val, Nick's flying car, Strucker and the Satan Claw - check, check, check and check. The Helicarrier and Dum-Dum Dugan were the only items that I couldn't squeeze in. Ah well, I had a blast on this and really enjoyed it. Here's the rest of the guys Furious finery.

Comic Twart: Awesome art every week!

Comic Twart: Black Beetle by Ramón Pérez

I've been talking a lot about this site at our meetings but kept forgetting to post about it. COMIC TWART is a group of professional comic artists who choose and draw a different character each week. So far, they have drawn Zorro, Torpedo, Rocketeer, GI Robot, Black Beetle and Johnny Recon. This is all on top of their professional commitments for the sheer love of it, I guess.

Definitely, my favourite site at the moment, I'm incredibly impresed by the talent of these guys and find the whole site a huge inspiration.

Check out their site and the massive ammount of stuff they have posted in a month and a half. Then come back here at the end of the week when we will be delivering our own tribute to the Twarts.

It's got strips, scripts, sketches and previews of upcoming comics, all from Swansea-based artists & writers. It also includes most of the Wall Comic story which we started at the Swansea Museum Workshops and continued at Heroes and Legends.

The Comix Shoppe is in the Shoppers Walk arcade, opposite the Grand Theatre.

Comicky goodness over at Whitechapel.

Firstly, since this is the first post of the new year I should probably say Happy New Year even though it is nearly February ^_^.

Also I have been directed to Warren Ellis's site via twitter because there are guest comickers there all week to answer your comic creation/artwork/writing etc related questions.

I heartily recommend that you head on over to http://www.warrenellis.com/?p=8439 go say hello grab a cuppa and maybe ask some questions. Even if you have nothing to ask it is still worth reading comments to other people's questions. I for one am finding what the guests have to say very enlightening.

Go now, Emma Vieceli and Kelly Sue DeConnick are waiting for you. (Don't forget the biscuits)

Happy reading!
