Matteo Scalera 'he's his own no.1 fan for sure'

Go here if you want to see some smokin' hot comic book art. I have been corresponding with Matteo Scalera for over a year now and this is his second art book. He has been trying to break into the comic industry and now seems to have succeeded in his dream. He's got an 8 page Deadpool strip in 'Breaking Into Comics The Marvel Way' #2 (out now) and is also doing all the interior pages to next months Deadpool team up.
Matteo is totally aproachable and a super cool guy, check his deviant page for loads of awesome art, tutorials, links to his blog, commisions etc.
Enjoy.

Corpse for a Day

A few days back, I was helping Tranter write a script for his uni project, and he asks me if I wanted to help his buddy Oanis with his project too. I said, okay.

Yep, so Tranter and I were corpses for the day. Some lovely ladies came down from Cardiff and made us up with fake blood, wax and make up, and we spent our off camera time scaring people around the uni, standing around in the lifts and chasing pretty girls...

Twart Students 01: Nick Fury

MWPete

It was my choice for the first Twart Students project and I had a checklist of Nick Fury elements I wanted to include; 6os feel - check, the layout is based on the Bullitt poster with a dash of Point Blank. I also wanted Val, Nick's flying car, Strucker and the Satan Claw - check, check, check and check. The Helicarrier and Dum-Dum Dugan were the only items that I couldn't squeeze in. Ah well, I had a blast on this and really enjoyed it. Here's the rest of the guys Furious finery.

Mark 'Son of Ken' Hughes

Lee Philips

Mark Tranter

Don't forget to keep visiting the Comic Twart blog and pop back to us in a fortnight for our next subject, chosen by Mark Hughes which is JEAN GREY...

Comic Twart: Awesome art every week!

Comic Twart: Black Beetle by Ramón Pérez

I've been talking a lot about this site at our meetings but kept forgetting to post about it. COMIC TWART is a group of professional comic artists who choose and draw a different character each week. So far, they have drawn Zorro, Torpedo, Rocketeer, GI Robot, Black Beetle and Johnny Recon. This is all on top of their professional commitments for the sheer love of it, I guess.

Definitely, my favourite site at the moment, I'm incredibly impresed by the talent of these guys and find the whole site a huge inspiration.

Check out their site and the massive ammount of stuff they have posted in a month and a half. Then come back here at the end of the week when we will be delivering our own tribute to the Twarts.
