Here we go again! While trotting the globe, we caught up with the 2B Heroes creator, talent machine and all around good guy Renzo Rivadeneira. Just like the awesome Edwarner, Renzo has taken the time out of his busy schedule and blessed us with a terrific image, created for our ongoing Blarts and joined in our new spotlight feature by revealing his comic book crush. So feast your eyes on this Favourite Cartoon blart and find out a little more about Renzo.

WHO IS YOUR COMIC BOOK CRUSH?

DO YOU READ COMICS?
Of course!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST COMIC AND DO YOU STILL HAVE IT?
I remember that, was an Uncanny X-men #308, cover by John Romita Jr.

WHAT WAS THE LAST COMIC YOU BOUGHT?
Batman Vol. 1: Court of Owls, Capullo is one of my favorite artists since Spawn.

WHAT COMIC(S) HAVE PROVEN MOST INFLUENTIAL?
When I started reading comics I was more concerned about the artwork to be honest, I think it was all the Uncanny X-men drawn by Joe Madureira, I love his artwork.

FAVOURITE/MOST MEMORABLE COVER?
The Ultimates Vol. 3 Hard Cover by Joe Mad. I like it so much I have it as a poster framed in my living room haha!

FAVOURITE ARTIST(S) AND WRITER(S)?
Ummm, this is one of the hard questions, I have a lot os favorite artists, Joe Madureira, Greg Capullo, Jim Lee, Romita Jr., The Amazing Skottie Young, Humberto Ramos... I can go on and on haha!
Writers, Scott Snyder, Dan Slott, Mike Mignola, Miller, Bendis, Moore, Whedon... Oh God... haha.

FAVOURITE CHARACTER?
The Bat.

WHAT ARE YOU READING AT THE MOMENT?
Batman Vol. 1: Court of Owls

WHAT INTERESTED YOU IN CREATING COMICS FOR A LIVING?
I do have plans to have my own comic book, sadly I don’t do this for living... Yet.

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
Drawing my own comic book, working in a house at the beach that's full of comics, a dog I will name Krypto and with a girl like MJ.

WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED MEDIUM TRADITIONAL OR DIGITAL, OR A MIX OF BOTH?
Definitely a Mix, but I will always prefer the old pencil and paper, it's the Soul of the draw!

WHICH TOOLS OR PROGRAMS DO YOU PREFER USING? (Inks, pencils, oils, brushes, etc.)
Pencils, paper, iPhone filter apps, photoshop, Illustrator, sometimes props for some draws.

WOULD/HAVE YOU SWITCHED FROM ONE TO THE OTHER?
I use to think that my rough draws on plain paper suck, I've never shown them before. Now I have some people on Instagram and Facebook who like them haha, I used to make them in illustrator.

WHY DO YOU PREFER YOUR CURRENT MEDIUM?
I feel it's more authentic, I don’t need to make them clean, the pencil just flows on the paper, I feel like my ideas come out easily.

WHAT IS YOUR WORKING METHOD: DO YOU SET YOURSELF DEADLINES? OR DO YOU WORK WHEN THE MOOD TAKES YOU?
When the mood takes me and when I can find time, I really wish I could draw more often.
Light-hearted/off-topic questions:

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE PERKS TO THE JOB?
Make my own desktop wallpapers haha. Nah, well, I think it's great for me to have the skills to draw some of my favorite characters in my own way, from my own point of view.

DO YOU GET FREEBIES?
Not often sadly, but sometimes I have some amazing friends to trade artworks with.

DO YOU GO TO CONVENTIONS? AND DO YOU ENJOY THEM?
I’m going to my first San Diego ComicCon next year, and I hear that Perú will have some conventions this and next year.

TELL US ONE THING WE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU:
I was going to be an archaeologist... Without a whip sadly haha, thank God that didn’t happen.

WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?
Eat all with a Spoon!

A 'VERSUS' QUESTION Hulk vs. Thor, Batman vs. Captain America, John Romita Snr. vs. John Romita Jr, Ditko vs. Kirby, choose one or make up your own -
WHO WOULD WIN?
Avengers Movie VS TDKR, well, we win! This year is one of the most amazing Comic book years of all time, I don’t care who makes more money haha!

WHICH COMIC CHARACTER DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?
Batman

AND WHICH WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE NOW, AND WHY?
Spiderman, super power, hot girlfriends, and he has really interesting friends.

WHO IS YOUR COMIC BOOK CRUSH?
Jean Gray... Read my mind Baby!

Renzo Rivadeneira
Renzo is the brainchild behind 2BHeroes.Com, and Art by RenzoRF. Renzo has taken some of the most beloved characters from the world of comics and film, and put his unique spin on them.
Renzo was born in Lima, Peru where he found a love for comic books, which turned into a love for drawing. He quickly discovered drawing was a creative outlet for him, and the arrival of comic books created a life long love for drawing and great characters. “I still have the first comic I ever read”.  A steady diet of toys, Saturday morning cartoons, Disney, and the world of Marvel and DC kept inspiring Renzo and sharpened his skills with a pencil.
Following Renzo’s love for drawing and comics led him to the world of graphic design, which is the field he has been working in for the past ten years. This opened up the use of digital images in Renzo’s artistic work and helped define his style. “I believe my characters want a place in this digital world, even though most of them are made with a pencil”.
Instagram has allowed Renzo to spread his artwork all over the world. With over 35,000 people following his work, Renzo is able to connect with people the minute a new piece of work is ready.  “We live in an interactive world, everything is connected, and the way we see the world now is completely different from when we were little. I try to show that interaction through my drawings, although they are flat (2D) they interact with real and digital elements. I like showing the contrast within my work. It's a 2D work but it's interactive at the same time.”
Having been born the same year the original Star Wars was released seems like the perfect match, for Renzo and his art. He is heavily influenced by the characters from a galaxy far, far, far away. “I’m a child of the Millennium Falcon generation”.  Comics are where Renzo’s true passion lies. “Superheroes, comics are an escape from the ordinary daily routine of life. A simple man can be turned into a God by a radioactive accident, or a lucky cosmic coincidence.”

Renzo still lives in Lima, Peru and enjoys coming up with new settings for some of his favourite characters.
You can follow Renzo yourselves in may ways, go say hello!

This is the news!!!!
SCC International Artist Spotlight

Ok folks, here we go! We have a new feature for you, we are going to spotlight some creators of art and illustration that we have found on our travels. We are going to try and introduce you to as many great creators that we can get our grubby little mitts on, fear not though, we did wash them first, our mitts not the creators. Come and have an eyeball feast with us as we go global, to seek out some fantastic pieces from all around the world.

The idea will be to introduce you to some great people and try our best to get them to answer a little questionnaire and hopefully they can find the time to join in with our Blarts and provide us with some amazing work that we can all wonder at. We hope you enjoy the journey, don't forget your passports!

First up we have the joy of Edwarner, here's her bio, dig in!

EdWarner©

EdWarner© is an illustrator, ceramic modeller, craft and graphic designer based in Madrid, Spain. Mad toy lover and collector. Her studio and her home look like little Toy Museums. She worked as a digital and traditional technique illustration teacher, and character-graphic designer for other companies before falling in love with The Chestnut Girl©.

Now she wants to Chestnutzate the world with her sweet character, putting 2 big buns in everything and giving them the characteristic shape. Loves digital art, but sometimes needs to mess up her studio modelling a good ceramic piece. So definitely for Edwarner© everything looks better if it looks like a Chestnut!!!

Lets find out a bit about this artist and what makes her tick, maybe we'll find out if she has a comic book crush?

'WHO IS YOUR COMIC BOOK CRUSH?'

DO YOU READ COMICS?
Yes, but now I'm buying more art books than comics.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST COMIC AND DO YOU STILL HAVE IT?
My first comic was a "Mortadelo y Filemón" one, it is a Spanish comic from "Francisco Ibañez". I still have it and a big part of that collection.

WHAT WAS THE LAST COMIC YOU BOUGHT?
"Berserk" no. 35. From Kentaro Miura.

WHAT COMIC(S) HAVE PROVEN MOST INFLUENTIAL?
I think that my most influential things are the cute ultra sweet series from the 80´s. Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, Snoopy, The Smurfs... That kind of ultra girly stuff XD

FAVOURITE/MOST MEMORABLE COVER?
I know it isn´t an ultra great cover, but I fell in love with one of my first Spider-man pieces. "The Wedding". With that huge heart with the Spider-man mask in it (SoK! he say The Amazing Spider-Man Annual vol. 1 #21)

FAVOURITE ARTIST(S) AND WRITER(S)?
Maybe my faves aren't all comics artists, but here I go with the mix:
James Jean, Alessandro Barbucci, Frank Miller, Sheldon Moldoff, Quino, Claire Wendling, Alan Moore, Charles M. Schulz, Hayao Miyazaki, McFarlane, Kentaro Miura...

FAVOURITE CHARACTER:
Mafalda.

WHAT ARE YOU READING AT THE MOMENT?
Book: The second part of "Secret of the Seventh Son" called "Book of Souls", from Gleen Cooper.
Comic: "Berserk" no. 35 from Kentaro Miura.

WHAT IS YOUR PREFERRED MEDIUM TRADITIONAL OR DIGITAL, OR A MIX OF BOTH?
I love both. And love to mix them. I choose what I am going to use, thinking of the final result. I mean, for canvas and paintings, I prefer traditional techniques (markers, watercolor, acrylics). For prints, tshirts and that kind of things, I prefer digital (Adobe Illustrator).

WHICH TOOLS OR PROGRAMS DO YOU PREFER USING? (Inks, pencils, brushes, etc.)
Traditional techniques (markers, watercolor, acrylics).
Digital (Adobe Illustrator).

WOULD/HAVE YOU SWITCHED FROM ONE TO THE OTHER?
I switch depending on the work.

WHY DO YOU PREFER YOUR CURRENT MEDIUM?
I love every medium!!! And love to learn new ways!!!

WHAT IS YOUR WORKING METHOD: DO YOU SET YOURSELF DEADLINES? OR DO YOU WORK WHEN THE MOOD TAKES YOU?
I'm a little bit of a messy girl hihihi. Love to work really early. Prefer to paint in the first hours of the day but always respect the deadlines of my clients.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE PERKS TO THE JOB?
The best part is that you work doing something that makes you happy and in my case, doing something I dreamt of since I was little.

TELL US ONE THING WE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU:
I have a Kawaii style, but love Heavy Metal.

WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE?
My house and my studio look like a Toys R´Us hehehe, I love collecting Toys and Plush.

BATMAN Vs. CAPTAIN AMERICA?
Of course Batman would win.

WHICH COMIC CHARACTER DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?
I was in love with "Peppermint Patty" from Charlie Brown. I know it's not the typical character of choice when you were young, but she was the best for me XD

AND WHICH WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE NOW, AND WHY?
I think now I'd prefer to be one of the CREATORS of those characters hihihi.

WHO IS YOUR COMIC BOOK CRUSH?
(Character or creator) I really love "Mafalda" from Quino. It's the kind of comic strip that I can read and read for the rest of my life, and it would always amaze me.

We hope you enjoyed our insight into the wonderful world of Edwarner and continue to follow her future creations as well as thanking her for taking the time out to join us on our travels, you can do this in many ways, click that mouse!
