Who Is Your Comic Book Crush With David Julian Rapado from Dark Blade Creations

We are changing things up a little bit for this "Comic Book Crush" as the person taking part this time is not a comic book creator, this time we are joined by one of our Friends From Dark Blade Creation, David Julian Rapado. Dark Blade Creations Is a local group of gaming enthusiasts who have joined together to make table top games in the Swansea area. They are currently on Kickstarter to raise the funds needed to put their first game Stand and Deliver into production.

WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO GAMING?
the social aspect

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST GAME AND DO YOU STILL HAVE IT?
My first game was Risk. No I don't still have it

WHAT WAS THE LAST GAME YOU BOUGHT?
Bragget the card game

WHAT GAME(S) HAVE PROVEN MOST INFLUENTIAL?
Warhammer 40K Warhammer fantasy D&D World of Darkness Shadowrun and World of Warcraft. These have had the most
influence in my life.

WHAT GAME(S) ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?
At the moment I'm into Roleplaying games like World of Darkness and the new D&D has just being released.

DO YOU READ COMICS?

No not since I was a kid.

IF SO WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE CHARACTER?
If I did read I would probably someone evil like Mr sinister (x-men)

ARE YOU READING ANYTHING AT THE MOMENT?
Yes.

IF SO, WHAT?
Sliverthorn, by Raymond feist
WHAT INTERESTED YOU IN CREATING GAMES FOR A LIVING?
I like the social aspect of gaming people coming together and just having fun. And when I went out to Essen in Germany and seen just how big the industry is I thought WOW! could this be a way out of my boring dead end office job.

WHY DO YOU PREFER YOUR CURRENT MEDIUM?
At the moment Card games are easier and cheaper to produce. In the future I would love us At Darkblade creations to make boardgames and figure games, we have a few ideas.

WHAT IS YOUR WORKING METHOD: DO YOU SET YOURSELF DEADLINES? OR DO YOU WORK WHEN THE MOOD TAKES YOU?
I think as our project Stand & deliver gathers momentum, it's starting to be more deadline focused, whereas at the start it was a bit scattered.

Light-hearted/off-topic questions:
-WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE PERKS TO THE JOB?

to see your creation being played by people and them enjoying it.
DO YOU GET FREEBIES?
No

DO YOU GO TO CONVENTIONS? AND DO YOU ENJOY THEM?
Yes, I do go to conventions and yes I do enjoy them

(If relevant) -FAVOURITE CONVENTION?
I have two conventions that are game specific that are essential if you are into games. They are Essen in Germany (biggest convention in Europe) and UK games expo (biggest convention in the UK).

TELL US ONE THING WE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU:
I have being doing Martial arts (Lau gar kung fu) since I was 19 yrs old and I currently hold a third degree black sash in the style.

WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? E.g.: are you a chocoholic? Collect action figures?
chocolate ( terry's chocolate orange  is my poison)
A 'VERSUS' QUESTION Gandalf vs Merlyn - WHO WOULD WIN?
Merlyn without a doubt ( because he was welsh).
WHICH COMIC CHARACTER DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?
Nightcrawler. His entrance in x- men 2 was amazing!

AND WHICH WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE NOW, AND WHY
Ironfist. because I could use my martial arts.
WHO IS YOU COMIC BOOK CRUSH? (Character, writer or artist)
Felicia day.

IF YOU WEREN'T DOING THIS WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
Making more proto types of Stand & deliver

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
